Tool & Die Maker 2nd Shift
Responsibility
Correct and improve tooling, jigs and fixtures for which responsibility is assigned: Develop, constructs, and alters a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations, to work involving accurate relationships, and extremely close tolerances.
Also, reconstruct/repairs and selecting the proper materials. Makes allowances for shrinkage during the heat-treating of tools and metal flows in dies. Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Progressive Die & Design from industry accredited program;
- Three (3) to Five (5) years professional experience in tool and Die and Machining in the related field.
- Experience in Tool and Die Welding.
Leadership
- Ensure compliance to all safety procedures.
- Assist with associate skill development if assigned by Coordinator.
- Model and mentor proper process procedures and die or tool problem solving.
Service
- Help train associates in tooling and machining operations.
- Assist with die or tool repair planning.
- Complete all tool work orders and other documentation as required.
- Maintain continuous improvement of all assigned tooling.
- Support IATF-16949 requirements.
- Assist in maintaining professional communications within team and other facility teams.
Operations
- Confirm accuracy in die usage for production operation.
- Monitor product quality.
- Manage die maintenance area documentation.
- Manage ordering of all die maintenance supplies, replacement die parts, and maintaining stock on these items.
- Actively maintain 5s organization throughout the tool shop.
- Other duties assigned by Area Manager.
*Pay based on experience.

Experience:
- TIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
- MIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
- Hand grinding: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mills , metal, lathes and saws: 1 year (Preferred)
- CNC: 2 years (Preferred)
- Blueprint reading: 2 years (Preferred)
