2nd Shift Quality Auditor

Responsibility: Strategic

Responsible for managing the production side of quality and relations with the customer as well as providing direction to quality associates and the quality area to ensure customer requirements and customer satisfaction is met.  Assist quality team via auditing to enforce client requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.

Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive and the Objectives of:

Meeting challenges of changed legal and business environment.

Enhancing the trust of ATA among customers, associates, and society.

Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of Steady Compliance.

Leadership

  • Ensure compliance to all safety procedures.
  • Assist keeping team focused on assigned activities.
  • Assist development of team skill base and all associate quality training.
  • Assist associates with knowledge of quality defects and customer requirements

Service

  • Assist in maintaining the company’s Quality systems.
  • Assist completion of all customer requirements such as Quality Control Plans, Drawing control, Inspection Fixture Instructions, Gage Control documents, etc.
  • Assist associates regarding part quality
  • Assist maintenance of product quality so that parts shipped meet or exceeds our customer requirement.
  • Assist the company in meeting IATF-16949 requirements and support IATF-16949 requirements.
  • Assist in part submission preparation.
  • Look for Kaizen opportunities and present ideas to management.

Operations

  • Examine products to ensure they meet specifications and standards of presentation and quality.
  • Inspect product per control plan requirements and visual controls.
  • Train and assist operators to carry out their quality control functions
  • Maintain appropriate documentation on quality checks & issues.
  • Ensure associate compliance to shop floor quality systems.
  • Sample products to determine whether they meet specifications and quality standards, follow “Stop Call Wait” instruction when parts are found to be defective.
  • Place nonconforming parts on hold and determine exposure in house and shipped
  • Issue, track and close NPR records
  • Ensure “hold” product is stored in designated area.
  • Maintain hold area ensuring product is reworked and dispositioned daily
  • Complete all required inspections on production floor.
  • Ensure all suspect parts are contained and labeled properly.
  • Ensure rework instructions are present for any suspect parts.
  • Manage sort activities regarding hold parts.
  • Make judgment calls regarding part quality
  • Disposition questionable product in “red” bins.
  • Keep correct records of scrap and hold information
  • Issue daily quality report and daily information letter
  • Know and comprehend critical/safety characteristics of each part.
  • Communicate with all associates on product quality, procedures and processes
  • Assist with sorting tasks to verify quantities shipped to customer.
  • Assist with dimensional fixture and part layouts
  • Utilize fixtures and basic measuring device
  • Assist Assembly Coordinator with educating and training of all associates on proper fixture usage.
  • Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager or Quality Coordinator.

Maintenance Technician

Responsibility

Maintain and improve the integrity of machinery for our production systems.

Qualifications

Associates degree or five (5) plus years professional experience in Maintenance field;

Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers;

Training or experience in Mechanical and Electrical technology and repair;

Experience in Electrical Safety practices;

Training or experience in basic Robotics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics;

Leadership

Ensure compliance to all safety procedures.

Model and mentor proper process procedures and maintenance problem solving.

Model proper safety precautions and enforce equipment safety regulations.

Service

Maintain knowledge of machine programming and functions.

Support maintenance and all production areas with technical skill.

Assist in the evaluation and correction of machinery problems

Support IATF-16949 requirements.

Operations

Maintain machinery maintenance, updates, backups and improvements.

Plan and coordinate installation and removal of mechanical and electrical devices.

Evaluate specific machinery and trouble shoot repair procedures.

Handle programming testing procedures.

Comprehend robotic programming systems and their functionality.

Assess and trouble shoot robotic software.

Develop and implement continuous improvements.

All other duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Tool & Die Maker

Responsibility

Correct and improve tooling, jigs and fixtures for which responsibility is assigned: Develop, constructs, and alters a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations, to work involving accurate relationships, and extremely close tolerances.

Also, reconstruct/repairs and selecting the proper materials. Makes allowances for shrinkage during the heat-treating of tools and metal flows in dies. Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools.

Qualifications

Certificate in Progressive Die & Design from industry accredited program;

Three (3) to Five (5) years professional experience in tool and Die and Machining in the related field.

Experience in Tool and Die Welding.

Leadership

Ensure compliance to all safety procedures.

Assist with associate skill development if assigned by Coordinator.

Model and mentor proper process procedures and die or tool problem solving.

Service

Help train associates in tooling and machining operations.

Assist with die or tool repair planning.

Complete all tool work orders and other documentation as required.

Maintain continuous improvement of all assigned tooling.

Support IATF-16949 requirements.

Assist in maintaining professional communications within team and other facility teams.

Operations

Confirm accuracy in die usage for production operation.

Monitor product quality.

Manage die maintenance area documentation.

Manage ordering of all die maintenance supplies, replacement die parts, and maintaining stock on these items.

Actively maintain 5s organization throughout the tool shop.

Other duties assigned by Area Manager.

  • Press programming parameter administration.
  • Ensure stamped completed final assembly and sub-assembly levels are maintained.

  • Champion shop floor leadership with communications between all ATA functions to ensure all associates are informed on activity.
  • Support IATF-16949 requirements.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement process ensuring that the products and process are continually upgraded.

Operations

  • Confirm production numbers for all presses.
  • Calculating production volume to prepare daily production reports and monitor stamped parts inventory.
  • Determine die order for daily production.
  • Confirm accuracy in die usage for production operation.
  • Coordinate tooling for press usage with Die Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Manage press and/or die repair documentation.
  • Provide press associates technical support and monitor assembly operations and efficiency via MBWA Shop Floor Supervision.
  • Monitor product quality for 100% compliance to part specifications and tolerances.
  • Productivity—champion associate efficiency and production planning.
  • Plan, lead and document meetings with associates to foster communication, productivity and teamwork.
  • Foster Associate Education and Development opportunities for associates through Training & Assessment of subordinates.
  • Coordinate shop floor management via ECS Change(s) Management, Manpower Administration, and QC Circle Program Administration & Supervision.
  • Other duties assigned.
